A Thousand Shrill Voices

I have a metaphor for you.
Seagulls flock
And scream
When you eat the chicken leg
In front of them
And disappear quickly
Once dinner is put away.

Do you see?

I will explain.

When you do
What you must
There will be
A thousand shrill voices
Longing to disturb you.
When you stop
They are satisfied.

The lesson?

Do what you must
Anyway.
